Fifa 15 is a true representation of the phrase a game of two halves. Legends makes its return to Fifa15 as an exclusive to Xbox owners, including the likes of Peter Schmeichel, Alan Shearer and the mighty Sir Bobby Moore. Of course if last season was anything to go by then I won’t be able to experience any of these players as finding a Legendary player in a gold pack is rarer then great performance by England at a major football competition.
Secondly, the Turkish Super Lig is now included! This has been an issue for years and EA finally got the rights to the league again. Sadly, there is a catch: there is no Brazilian Serie A! This is a huge miss, especially when you consider the eyes of the footballing world were just on Brazil 3 months ago for the world’s biggest tournament. We also lose out on all the young Brazilian prospects to grow in Career Mode.
With this in mind you maybe thinking that scoring screamers from 30 yards will be the way to go but I have news for you my friend as that will only work on the lower difficulties. If you think the likes of Real Madrid on Ultimate are gonna let you take pot shots from outside the box think again. The opposition will change its strategy based on what’s at stake and fill those areas in front of goal making these chances virtually impossible to pull off.
Even the best goalie in the world is just one man, and with keepers displaying enhanced mobility in FIFA 15, that means there's greater scope for attacking players to draw them out and leave them stranded with a superbly-timed pass or even an exisique nutmeg. As the keepers get more intelligent, you'll have to discover new ways to beat them –which is all part of the fun, of course.
“The goalkeepers get the short end of the stick,” Howard recently told one FIFA fan site. “The fact that EA Sports is revamping that position and modifying it in a way to make it much better, realistic, explosive and reactive is cool.” Bring it on.
Small steps can be taken by EA to make great improvements on the pitch. Tweaks to finishing and goalkeepers via a patch will most certainly make this FIFA the best football game yet. With the great new player models, amazing stadia and improvements on both sides of the ball through tackling and better passing, the gameplay is on a strong footing. But the issues with the UI and game modes are unlikely to be addressed before next year’s offering. It feels like the success of Ultimate Team has taken precedence over other modes, and that’s a shame.
The player search tool has had a makeover as well, with it now easier to find the player that you want and instant pop-ups of players will appear as you are typing away. The story-lines including the match day live feature will bring the latest real-time news straight to your feed in manager mode and deliver to you the latest headlines in the world of football.

Maximilian Meyer (CAM, FC Schalke 04)
This 18-year-old German midfield attacker is someone every team needs if they are to bolster the front line to the fullest. Sure he is young, but he still comes with an overall of 75. However, the best part about that is Meyer has the capability to level up to 87 if played regularly. Chances are the Bayer won't sell him easy and you might have to loosen the purse strings to bring one of the future stars of the game. Germans are better footballers anyway, hence you might not regret if you actually decide on the young German.
