Since World of Warcraft Classic launched back in August, there were numerous features players were asking for. Some of those “missing” features were actually just old design flaws that were later streamlined throughout its 15-year life-cycle. However, there were some that really could have been added, even if it meant harming the sanctity of the product. This is where the World of Warcraft Classic character transfer comes in. Now available, you can now transfer your characters to a different realm, and this guide will show you how.
The first thing to remember is that there is a 90-day cooldown period in “World of Warcraft: Classic.” This means a transferred character should be kept in its new realm for three months before players can initiate another transfer.
There are also restrictions in moving characters between different types of realms. Characters coming from PvE realms cannot be relocated to PvP realms. The same rule applies for relocations between RP and RP-PvP realms.
The maximum amount of gold that can be transferred in “World of Warcraft” is also limited according to a character’s level. Those in level 1 to 30 can only bring 100 gold with them. 500 gold can be transferred for characters between levels 31 and 50. Lastly, those that reached levels 51 to 60 can relocate as much as 2,000 gold.
Note that the Blizzard Shop Page has not updated and still says that paid transfers are not available in Classic. However, we were able to transfer in-game, making it to the payment screen after selecting a realm and hitting the "Continue" button. While PvP characters can move to PvE and RP realms, PvE characters cannot move to PvP realms. You will receive the error "Error. Please address these issues: - Please select a different realm." Back in Vanilla, Paid Character Transfers were added in Patch 1.11, together with Naxxramas and many other quality-of-life improvements.
