After reviewing the demo a week or so back, we have finally got our hands on the full version. FIFA 15 is out for some places, coming out in some and out in a few days for others. We were one of the lucky ones. First things first, everyone knows just how awesome FIFA 14 was, so everybody must be wondering how the beautiful game could have gotten more beautiful. The changes are subtle, especially during the game-play view, but still very impressive.
EA has always been known for delivering quality in their games, and over the years, their FIFA franchise has been a shining example of that. FIFA 15 actually raises the bar higher, something EA should be commended for. The depth and accuracy of details and enjoyable, easy to pick up game-play captivates both football experts and everyday gamers. Truly, it is a game for the world to play.
In order to make use of microphones/Kinect, EA Sports has added a voice command system to FIFA 15. If you want to make a substitution, you follow the voice command prompts that are built into the game. This also applies to mentality, tactics and even camera angle. The Be-A-Pro mode tries to take this feature to the next level by incorporating it into the game play. You can now shout for a pass, call for a cross into the back post or tell team mates to have a shot. This sounds brilliant in theory but when you put this theory into practice it turns out to be rather lacklustre. Your voice commands have to match the terms and commands that are built into the game. It is essentially like trying to remember move combos for a beat ‘em up game but only with your voice, and then hoping that you have enunciated enough for the CPU to recognise your command.
The Player Career mode is always my favorite in any sports game and is often where I spend most of my time. That is certainly no different with FIFA 15. At the start, you have the option to create your own player or use an existing player. Naturally, I had to create and put myself on an MLS team. EA Game Face is back and actually worked well here, though it would be nice if they could have implemented something similar to the face scanning technology that the upcoming NBA 2K15 is going to include. After you get your character created, you will be given four objectives that you are supposed to meet throughout the next season, two primary and two secondary.
The Team Management menus have been redesigned to provide more information about a player's stats. The menus are easier to digest compared with the list of numbers next to player attributes we saw in previous FIFA titles. In FIFA 15, a circle graph shows you player qualities, and you can make fine adjustments to formations by selecting players and moving them exactly where you'd like them to be.
There is another tactic, its as simple, that has good results when you want to study a specific market. You just add a big amount of the same card to your transfer target list and observe their final prices.
