Passing in FIFA 16 really is quicker and smoother and more responsive. Any players with high ball control and passing are awesome in FIFA 16. Players like Messi will rarely make a bad pass. If your player has used energy running and low stamina passing will be slightly worse. Generally with assisted passes will go where you want but these two variables do influence the outcome. Also aftertouch can still be used in FIFA 16. After releasing pass button curl the left stick around in different directions to watch the ball curl. If playing FIFA 16 Ultimate team make sure the overall team chemistry is as high as possible, 85+ ideally over 90. Players with 7 chem will perform fine if top players.

 

The FIFA 16 Career Mode is only available on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, which is one reason to buy a new console and get the latest FIFA game on the new hardware. EA is keeping the actual FIFA 16 gameplay to a minimum for now, but there is a new FIFA 16 trailer that highlights some of the added realism and new FIFA 16 features. Corner Kicks grew stale over the years. For as long as we can remember, you had two options for attacking with a corner kick. Either slow roll pass it to another player on your side and try to wiggle in for a shot on goal, or high/low cross it into the box for a nice one timer. Well, we’re happy to say EA Sports finally put a stop to this in FIFA 16, sort of.

 

After you master the other techniques, there is nothing more satisfying than scoring on a goal keeper by kicking the ball up over your own head into the back of the net. The Rainbow kick isn’t technically a kick. It is one of the many skill moves you can do with the right thumbstick. It is meant to beat a defender to get a break on goal. If you do this just right with the goalie close to you, it will go over your head, his head and into the net. The result? You will look like a god among men. An interesting feature in FIFA 16 is the ability to control the occurrence of acrobatic shots such as bicycle kicks or diving headers.

 

To do so, you obviously need to be set up correctly, including having the ball in the air. For Xbox, hold down LT as you shoot, and L2 for Playstation. For lower shots, such as double-tap or triple-tap low crosses, you can do the same thing and pull off some cheeky little flicks and backheels. It's really quite simple, but it's more about the timing and set up than anything, but you can pull off some really spectacular goals if you do this well. Like every FIFA game, some Goal Keepers can be a tough nut to crack. Prominent names include Manuel Neuer and G.G Buffon. Long range shots against them are hardly fruitful so it’s always better to go with a buildup play and use finesse shots against them. In FIFA 16, keepers are more aggressive to take the ball so you will need to have more control over the ball if you want to execute a shoot on target. Then let go of stick and shoot button and as your player makes contact with the ball you can add aftertouch. You need to move the left stick slowly rather than flicking it fast. Roll the stick in a semi circle from bottom to top (of your attacking direction) if looking for maximum curl with some dip.

 

The following images give examples of where to move the stick to add aftertouch. To see them bigger click on them and then click on the image thumbnail which appears. You will notice that if you knock the ball on with the right stick further ahead you have more time to direct and then prepare your aftertouch. If you have space I recommend it as the curve and dip you can create really adds flair to your shooting and increases the ball speed. Scoring on a free kick is somewhat more difficult. You will want to aim the camera at the wall of players, looking for a gap between the heads of the players. Power up your shot to between two or three bars of power depending on your distance, and when your kicker starts running to the ball, hold the left analog stick up. The ball will then dip and should go into the net. 

 

Make sure auto-switching is set to "Arial Balls" before you do anything, because you can't defend properly against a good player with it on. This will ensure that you can track off the ball runs. It is also a big help if you can get comfortable with using the right-stick to directionally choose which player to control as it just takes the random element out of changing player.
