If you have a decent internet connection then the FIFA 16 demo also allows you to try out another of FIFA 16's novelties - the FUT Draft mode. This variant of Ultimate Team Mode allows players to create a team with randomly chosen options for each position on the field. Then you will have to participate in several matches to earn rewards that can be used in the traditional Ultimate Team. The demo itself allows you to create a team and participate in a match, and it seems like it could be a fun idea, although we will reserve judgment for the final version. EA is implementing many other changes outside of the gameplay experience, like the improved career mode, instructions during the game to educate newcomers about what to do in various situations, new Skill Games, and several other minor details.
The demo itself didn't allow us to properly explore these and other elements, but we already have a good idea of ??what we can expect in the most important area. "Bringing some of the best women's players and teams in the world to our franchise is a massive event for EA Sports, and we are equally excited about bringing millions of fans a new way to play," David Rutter, vice president and general manager of EA Sports FIFA said earlier this year. However, EA Sport have restricted the parameters of the women's game. The full game will only allow the use of women's teams in three different game modes - 'Match Day', 'Offline Tournament' and 'Online Friendly'. With gamers tending to favor the 'Career Mode' and 'Ultimate Team' modes, it's a decision that threatens to make the progressive addition feel like something of a novelty.
The site doesn't do an overly good job of detailing what exactly the demo includes, but according to FIFA Play it offers 12 playable teams, including the US and German Women's National Teams, three stadiums, four-minute halves, and "professional/world class" difficulty level. The demo will also support the new FUT Draft, the FIFA Trainer, six new "skill games" that will be playable while matches are loading, and the Bundesliga Broadcast Presentation, which boasts "authentic broadcast graphics" when two of the teams in the demo - Borussia Dortmund and Borussia M?nchengladbach - meet at the Borussia-Park stadium.
In FIFA 16, defending has become far slicker. In previous FIFA’s, when you were up against a speedster you had no chance. There would always be one winner in a CB vs RW match-up. Now I feel like it’s far more evenly matched. Defenders are now much more agile when tracking an opponent, being able to turn as quickly as the attacker, providing you with more time to pick the right moment to make a tackle. Two game modes will be available in this year’s demo - Kick-Off mode and Ultimate Team. Kick-Off mode allows players to play a 4 minutes halves “Match Day” game, playing against either the AI or a friend in one of 3 available stadiums - Borussia-Park, CenturyLink Field and the Santiago Bernabeu.
And of course, the Ultimate Team mode will allow players their first chance to experience the FUT Draft mode (again, more on this later). So with 2 entries on our list already teased, let’s now take a look and see what the first 6 things everyone will do when we get our first taste of the FIFA 16 demo… Speaking of moving up the pitch, passing percentages still seem high when moving up the pitch. When you play the AI on higher difficulty levels, all the teams still seem to hover around 90 percent passing (whether it's the Sounders or Barcelona), but user vs. user games should be more in the muck as lanes are covered better, and I feel like I have more weapons at my disposal to stop attacking runs.
The last point on passing is I'm slightly concerned about driven passes. I love the creativity they bring to the game now, but I feel like players of all types are a little too good at corralling these lasers. I don't have a problem with the longer-distance passes being handled, but the handling of driven "ping-pong" passes when players are closer together seems a bit out of whack. New celebrations have also been included including the option to run over to the substitutes and have them join in. A “Timber” celebration has also been added to the game where the player stands still and falls backwards, a chest thump and glamour slide, where players slide on their knees with their hands on the back of their heads.
