Playing on an
FIFA 16 Xbox One, the realism is surreal. Game-play enhancements provide unparalleled responsive control when you dribble and evade defenders. Stepovers, fakes, backheels -- it's all there, and rather easy to execute with a bit of practice. Man-to-man battles are as rewarding as a Vincent Kompany vs. Diego Costa standoff. The back of the net quivers when you score, grass wears and gets ripped up during the course of a match (EA Sports calls this the "live pitch"), while new shoulder barges, push-pull mechanics and shirt-pulling will make you feel as at home as Ryan Shawcross in the penalty box. There's even "big fall physics," though it doesn't seem to apply to referee Phil Dowd. Maybe next time.
FIFA 14 was the first football (soccer) title to release on the PS4, which has set the building blocks for next-gen, and what a gem it was. One thing we didn’t have was something to compare it to; PES 14 skipped a PS4 or XBOX One release. However, this will not be the case with PES 15, which will be arriving in November. Apart from this, you’ll be hard-pressed to a whole lot different from its predecessor. This should add to the realism of the game and alongside the full Premier League license playing through seasons could feel better and more realistic than ever! I wanted something to tackle the repetitive structure of Career and its quite possible this is the answer to years of the same old football storylines.
By contrast, my own roster has undergone almost 100 percent turnover, with only Mauro Zarate and Enner Valencia remaining among the old guard. Multiple trips to the Champions League has fattened my wallet to the point that I can afford recognizable stars; and at one point, my transfer budget sat at north of $100 million. If Barcelona would let me, I could probably find a way to buy Messi in the offseason. Given the computer's relatively conservative approach to the transfer window, it's not hard for even a mid-tier team to gain a sizable advantage in a short period of time.
There are a few problems in FIFA 16 with the whole process but one of the most infuriating is that you’re still only allowed to make three substitutions, whereas in real life the amount of changes a manager is allowed to make is far higher. Some teams even change their entire line-up at half-time. That concept may be a bit far-fetched but an increase in the substitutions you’re allowed to make to seven, or even five, would improve the appeal of pre-season games. Unfortunately, I think a lot of us would rather get into the full swing of the season straight away, which questions the need for pre-season games at all.
Another area where EA have made changes in FIFA 16 is transfers, with specific focus paid to the actual values that top players go for, and how form and player growth impact on values as the mode progresses. In FIFA 16 Career Mode if you were one of the big boys you could pretty much buy anyone you wanted for a fairly cheap price and in no time at all you could amass an army of the world greatest. Roles-set roles like captain, set-piece and penalty takers for each of your squads. We ran a great editorial the other day detailing 6 exciting, young players you can buy relatively cheap that turn into great investments throughout the years. These FIFA 16 players you can build up through your system and then sell, or just keep them on as cornerstones of your club.
EA Sports have increased the amount of possible goal actions, so now there’s even more choice when you want to celebrate. As well as popular celebrations such as Etoo’s Old Man, new bench animations show the emotions of the whole team. And if you happen to play it on PC, the mod community will have you covered with accurate names and kits for every club and national team. Unfortunately, mod support isn’t available on new consoles (yet) due to stricter controls by Sony and Microsoft over external content.
Like I mentioned before, when Billy Walter gets promoted to Catania u18, he will show up there, and eventually grow and get promoted and then get to the u21, u23, and senior, and actually be a main player in the team. You can now loan players to u23, u21 and u18 teams, which will REALLY help them grow with first team action and be happy. These u23, u21, and u18 team will also be a great place to give your young players experience and keep them happy, plus save squad space. You can play Public or Private, play FIFA 16 games with people online and do transfers with people. Basically put career mode online. That is all I really know about it, so watch other videos if you want more info.
